Forget about award season! Now it's hot girl summer season!
After the 2023 Oscars announced the final awards of the evening, Megan Thee Stallion decided to step out for a rare red carpet appearance.
The rapper arrived at Vanity Fair's Oscars after-party March 12 in a strapless mermaid gown custom made by Bach Mai. The black dress included a glistening black pattern with a netted corseted bust. She completed her award-worthy look with a diamond choker necklace and chandelier earrings.
As for her glam, makeup artist Lauren Elise Child used Revlon products to prove "she's back and she's cooler than ever."
Megan's last red carpet appearance was all the way back in June 2022 when she appeared at the season two premiere of STARZ's P-Valley. But as fashion fans know, good things come to those who wait.
The glamorous night out also comes nearly three months after a jury found rapper Tory Lanez guilty of all charges in the 2020 shooting of Megan outside a Los Angeles party. The Grammy-winning rapper accused Tory of shooting her in the foot after the pair left a party.
Tory—whose legal name is Daystar Peterson—pleaded not guilty to shooting her and dedicated an entire album to rebutting Megan's version of events.
As Tory awaits his sentencing in April, Megan appears to be trying to move forward by focusing on her career and having a little fun during Oscars weekend. The artist was spotted mingling with Angela Bassett, Seth Rogen and more stars inside Vanity Fair's annual party.
"I'm just getting more comfortable with myself and more comfortable with my skin," Megan told Harper's BAZAAR in March 2021. "I know that I'm a person that everybody looks to, and they're like, 'Oh, Megan, she's a confident woman. She's so strong.' But you have to go through things to become that person."
